1928 Declaration for Pension:



STATE OF Arkansas COUNTY OF Union, SS:

On this 28 day of Nov 1928, personally appeared Harry H McFann before me the undersigned, who makes the following declaration as an application for pension under the provision of the act of Congress approved May 1, 1926.

That he is 51 years of age; that he was born Dec 6th, 1876; at North Hope, Pa

That he is the identical Harry H McFann, who ENLISTED May 11th, 1898, at Mt Gretna Pa under the name of Harry H McFann, in Company E, Fifteenth P. V. I. and was honoragly DISCHARGED Oct 18th, 1898 at Camp Meade, Pa, having served ninety days or more during the War with Spain, the Philippine Insurrection, or China Relief Expedition between April 21, 1898, and July 4, 1902.

That otherwise than herein stated he was never employed in the United States Military or Naval Service. That his personal description at time of first enlistment was as follows: Height five feet ten inches; complexion fair; color of eyes blue; color of hair brown; that his occupation was engineer; that since leaving the service he has resided at Elderton Pa [and] Sapulpa [and] Tulsa Okla; and is occupation has been oil production

That he is suffering from a mental or physical disability of a permanent character, not the result of his own vicious habits, which so incapacitates him from the performance of manual labor as to render him [blank] unable to earn a support to-wit: troubled with malarial effects from fever contracted at Ft Washington Md --- Eyes weak     Piles, --- Teeth bad, ---

That he did not serve in the Army, Navy, or Marine Corps of the United States between April 6, 1917 and July 2, 1921, or at any time during said period.

That a member of his family served in the Army, Navy, or Marine Corps of the United States between April 6, 1917, and July 2, 1921, or at any time during said period Levi Ralph Mcfann served over seas     died April 4th 1927

No 5. Have you any children living? If so, state their names and dates of birth. Answer: Mary Alice McFann, born Aug 13 -- 1902    Kenneth H. McFann born Nov 2 -- 1903. Second marriage[:] H. Miles McFann born June 24 -- 1918     John Rheinhart McFann born Sept 9 -- 1927.
