Notes and Credits:

1. Each entry in the table above shows the head of household and the numbers of free white males and free white females (including the head of household) in each age category. Not all 1830 census categories are shown below. The census also contained columns for the enumeration of male and female slaves and male and female free colored persons in the household. None of the above households had entries in any of these categories. The census also had three columns in which to enter the number of persons in each household employed in seven categories: agriculture, commerce, manufactures and trade, navigation of the ocean, navigation of canals, lakes, and rivers, learned professions and engineers.

2. The actual age categories that appeared were of the form: "at least a years of age and under b years of age". In the above column headings, I have interpreted this as "a to b-1".

The record for Jackson McFann indicated that two members of his household were employed in agriculture. The record for James McFann indicated that one member of his household was employed in agriculture.
