According to the 1900 census, Rachel McFann had 11 children, 9 of whom were still living at the time of the census. According to the 1910 census, only 8 were still living (Elsa died in 1909). Terry reports that according to her father there was also a son named Carti. Terry writes "He doesn't know anything more about him except that he is pretty sure he was older than James and that he lived in WV. He doesn't even know if he was married but he remembers him visiting. All he ever heard him called was Carti. He has no idea what his real name was. My dad said that Carti died sometime between 1940 and 1950 because he remembers his dad going to the funeral. My dad didn't go so he doesn't even know where the funeral was." There is also a Cartie in the list of children given by Patrick McFann in his post to the McFann surname message board at FamilyHistory.com 3. Dates of birth for Andrew J. McFann Jr and Amaziah McFann are from the 1900 census. I am assuming that "Elijah" or "Elza" of the 1900 census (I will have to look at the record again to see which it is) is the same person as Elsa, whose death certificate is cited above. Dates of birth and death for Elsa are from his death certificate. Date of death for Ella was provided by Linda McFann. The date of birth for Orville (10 September 1897) was provided by Linda McFann and agrees with the 1900 census; his cemetery inscription (from the Vernon Cemetery transcriptions cited above) says 1899. Dates of birth for Ella, William, James, Earl R., Berta Mae, are from the cemetery inscriptions and are consistent with the 1900 census. 4. Date of marriage and spouse's names for Andrew J. Jr, James, William E., Bertha M., Orville, and Earl are fron the Lawrence Co records cited above. Copies of the records were obtained by Terry Turley. Terry reports that James and William married sisters. Linda McFann provided the full maiden name of Orville's wife. 5. Descendants of David McFann include: Terry McFann-Turley, granddaughter of his son James; Linda McFann and Thelma Hankins, granddaughters of his son Orville. 6.
